Guided by its owners, George and Sherry Schluessel, each team member is empowered to continuously pursue new ideas and share fresh perspectives, propelling ProCura towards its mission of elevating people’s quality of life.

George Schluessel

Chief Executive Officer

As ProCura’s leader and visionary, George Schluessel directs and leads acquisitions, negotiations and developments including design, strategic growth, capital allocation, asset management and partnership opportunities.

Throughout his 40-plus years in real estate development, Mr. Schluessel has steered his ship through some very choppy waters. Yet, Procura’s proven strategy of build, rent, sell has garnered results year over year, producing returns significantly above market and largely de-risked.

In 1979, Mr. Schluessel, a young architectural design student, guided by his strong instincts, he ventured into commercial real estate with a bold purchase of seven revenue properties in inner-city Edmonton.

Shortly after purchasing those first properties, Mr. Schluessel connected with a European group hoping to grow a modest $100,000 investment. With every successful transaction he orchestrated, he met the goals and objectives of his investors. He rolled funds from his commissions in for a piece of the equity.

Mr. Schluessel excels at cultivating relationships, recognizing opportunities, encouraging innovation, and delivering results. His tenacity, his experience and values have contributed to the unprecedented success of the company he founded – ProCura Real Estate Services – one of the largest private transit-oriented landowners in Alberta.

Sherry Schluessel

Chief Operating Officer

Believing strongly in renewal and reinvestment in urban neighborhoods, Sherry Schluessel’s leadership enabled the completion of signature projects, such as Mayfair Village South, one of Edmonton’s largest attainable housing developments, and the redevelopment of the Intact Insurance Building, which received the BOMA BEST® Gold and LEED® Gold – Core & Shell certifications.

With nearly 30 years in real estate, Ms. Schluessel applies her extensive industry knowledge, expertise, and insights to drive and maintain ProCura’s impressive growth. She provides mentorship and coaching for the company’s strategic planning, sales and marketing, partner relations, and business development.

Guided by her passion to lead ProCura’s value of giving back to the community in 2014, Ms. Schluessel founded Signs of Change, a charitable initiative advocating partnerships between businesses, communities, and not-for-profit organizations. To date, under Ms. Schluessel’s care, commitment and leadership Signs of Change has raised over $1 million dollars for youth-focused charities.

Recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network, and a nominee for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2018 Ms. Schluessel is an astute and compassionate leader.
